American Banker and Financial Insights released its 4th annual Fortune 500 style ranking of the hardware, software and services providers within the financial services industry on November 8, 2007. The ranking was categorized and evaluated based on CY06 year-end revenues and the percentage of revenues attributed to financial services.
Once again, two categories of companies were ranked:
The FinTech 100 includes vendors that derive more than one-third of their revenue from the financial services industry.
The FinTech 25 enterprise companies in FinTech are horizontal technology firms that sell products and provide support services across multiple industries.
Revenue from network, telecommunications, electronic exchanges, and data services providers are not counted as these business lines are not application technologies essential to running financial companies. However, companies that might have been excluded such as market data providers or credit bureaus but had a significant component of revenue tied to software, hardware, or services will be counted in these rankings, but only for that portion of their revenue.
At this year's BAI Retail Delivery Conference & Expo in Las Vegas, American Banker and Financial Insights hosted an awards event honoring this year's winners. Thanks goes out to the sponsors of this year's event, Houlihan Lokey and Microsoft.
Reprints, logo usage and other promotional programs are available for 12 months. Contact Chris Driscoll at American Banker for more information.
Thank you for taking the time to apply for consideration in the FinTech 100 for 2007. The 2007 survey is now closed. If you have additional questions on the rankings please contact Deborah Stark at dstark@financial-insights.com or phone 508-935-4318.
